Position Overview:
Our non-profit organization, with over 2,000 employees, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Payroll Supervisor to lead our payroll team. This is a newly created position that offers an excellent compensation package and the opportunity to transition from temporary to permanent. Working within a fast-paced environment, the Payroll Supervisor will oversee a team of four and be responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise a team of four payroll specialists, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure the department meets organizational standards and deadlines.
  • Oversee the end-to-end payroll process, including bi-weekly payroll for 2,000+ employees, while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for payroll-related inquiries, providing solutions and clarifications to employees and management as needed.
  • Implement and improve payroll processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the department.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to ensure payroll data aligns with employee records and accounting standards.
  • Prepare and manage payroll reports, metrics, and audit requests, and ensure that all records are accurate and maintained securely.
  • Support the department's efforts to continuously improve systems and processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; relevant certifications (such as CPP) are a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in payroll processing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, reporting requirements, and best practices.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment; non-profit experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in a large payroll software such as Workday or ADP
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage and motivate a team.
