The ideal candidate will handle employee payroll, benefits administration, and compliance while also addressing day-to-day HR activities, including recruitment support, onboarding, record-keeping, and benefits management. This role requires an understanding of payroll regulations and the ability to work with office and shop staff, drivers, and external vendors.Job Description/ Responsibilities:1. Payroll:Process bi-weekly payroll for all office staff and shop personnelCross trained on bi-weekly payroll for all driversEnsure accurate and timely payroll submission, including direct deposits and paychecksHandle payroll adjustments, deductions, garnishments, and reimbursementsMaintain payroll records and ensure compliance with state and federal regulationsManage timekeeping systems, review timecards, and resolve discrepanciesManage employee paid time off, sick leave, and benefits deductionsHandle driver per diem and reimbursements according to industry standards2. Human Resources:Administer employee benefits including enrollments, changes, and terminationsAssist in recruiting, screening, and onboarding new employees, ensuring compliance with state, federal, and DOT regulations and background checksMaintain and update employee files, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and industry regulationsCoordinate annual training programs and certificationsAddress and resolve employee inquiries related to payroll, benefits, and HR policiesSupport disciplinary actions, performance reviews, and exit interviewsEnsure payroll processes comply with all federal, state, and local laws, including wage and hour lawsPrepare and submit quarterly and annual payroll reports (W-2s, 1099s, etc.)Stay updated on changes in payroll laws, HR policies, and applicable trucking regulationsManage and update payroll system, ensuring accurate data entry and reportingCollaborate with management to improve payroll and HR processes, enhancing efficiency and accuracyAssist with special projects, including audits, policy updates, and employee engagement initiatives3.
