Position Summary :

Major Responsibilities :

  1. Develop and implement strategies to optimize inventory levels for both raw ingredients and finished goods, balancing demand forecasting with cost control to minimize excess and obsolete inventory.
  2. Lead regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to ensure accurate inventory data and identify discrepancies, taking corrective action as needed.
  3. Analyze inventory trends and metrics to identify areas for improvement, including excess and obsolete slow-moving items, and potential cost savings opportunities.
  4. Maintain inventory management systems, ensuring accurate data entry and proper system usage across the warehouse.
  5. Work closely with purchasing, sales, operations, and shipping and receiving teams to align inventory levels with business needs and sales forecasts.
  6. Identify and implement cost-saving measures related to inventory management.
  7. Ensure adherence to company inventory policies and procedures, including regulatory requirements and quality standards.
  8. Continuously evaluate and improve inventory control processes, finding opportunities for automation and efficiency gains.
  9. Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on inventory performance, including key metrics and recommendations for improvement.
  10. Coordinate with the finance department to ensure accurate inventory valuation and assist in financial reporting related to inventory.
  11. Oversee the disposal or liquidation of obsolete or excess inventory in accordance with company policies and environmental regulations.
  12. Other Duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

  1. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  2. 3+ years of experience in a food manufacturing environment, with emphasis on inventory control processes and methods preferred.
  3. Proven experience in inventory control, cycle count experience, warehouse management, or receiving operations.
  4. Proficiency in ERP systems, cycle count, and data analytics tools.
  5. Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and leadership skills.
  6. Strong negotiation and vendor management experience.
  7. Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and manage multiple priorities.
  8. Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.

The pay for this role in the state of CA ranges from $90,000 to $120,000 based on years of experience, position responsibilities and geographic location.
