To develop, implement, improve, and manage assigned programs. In addition to the Program Manager II duties, the Senior Program Manager is a leadership role, has a higher level of education/experience, more autonomy, exercises independent judgment, and provides coaching and guidance to less experienced program managers.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree and at least five (5) years of relevant project management experience required. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience to include a minimum of five (5) years project management experience will be considered. Experience managing multiple complex projects with teams of 10 or more is preferred, particularly in a health plan environment.
Special Skills, Licenses and Certifications
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interpret and articulate program requirements to involved stakeholders. Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills. Strong networking/relationship building skills, able to positively influence and create buy-in across groups, and maintain effective working relationships across all levels within the organization. Detail-oriented with strong organization skills, able to prioritize assignments and manage time effectively. Strong decision-making, problem solving, and critical thinking skills. Able to work under pressure and meet critical deadlines in a fast-moving environment. Adaptable to a continuously changing environment. Working knowledge of project management methodologies required. Proficient experience in the use of various computer system software including Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio, and PowerPoint. Valid California driver's license and proof of current automobile insurance compliant with Partnership policy are required to operate a vehicle and travel for company business.
Performance Based Competencies
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain courtesy and composure when dealing with internal and external customers. Ability to function effectively with frequent interruptions and direction from multiple team members.
Work Environment And Physical Demands
More than 50% of work time is spent using a desktop computer. When necessary, the ability to lift, carry, or move objects of varying size, weighing up to 10 lbs.
