Role Overview
Tropicana Brands Group is seeking a highly qualified Environmental Health & Safety Manager to support our locations in City of Industry, Walnut, and Oxnard to meet company goals and initiatives.
This role involves oversight of technical, programmatic, and strategic development for the site's programs across multiple locations in Southern California.
Additional Responsibilities Include
- Regulatory Compliance & Reporting: Ensure compliance with California-specific environmental, health, and safety regulations, including Cal/OSHA, CARB, and others. Maintain permits, reports, and documentation.
- Workplace Safety & Health Programs: Implement and maintain safety programs, conduct inspections and hazard assessments.
- Incident Investigation & Risk Mitigation: Investigate incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Environmental Management: Oversee environmental compliance programs, including waste disposal and sustainability initiatives.
- Employee Training & Engagement: Conduct EHS training sessions and foster a safety culture.
- Emergency Preparedness & Response: Develop response plans and coordinate drills.
- Audits & Inspections: Conduct audits, coordinate with agencies, and respond to findings.
- Collaboration & Leadership: Partner with operations and leadership, act as EHS subject matter expert.
- Regulatory Compliance: Minimize legal risks through compliance.
- Work Environment: Maintain a safe, compliant workplace and reduce incidents.
- Training Records & Response: Keep records up-to-date and lead audit responses.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's in environmental science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related.
- Experience: 5-7 years in EHS management, preferably in manufacturing or regulated industries (10+ years without degree).
- Regulatory Knowledge: California-specific (Cal/OSHA, CARB, DTSC) and federal standards (OSHA, EPA).
- Technical Skills: Risk assessments, environmental permits, incident investigations.
- Communication & Leadership: Ability to train, influence, and collaborate, fostering safety culture.
- Location: Must be in or willing to relocate to City of Industry, CA, and onsite daily.
- Legal Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications: CSP, CIH, CHMM, or similar.
- Industry Experience: Manufacturing, Food & Beverage, or California-regulated environments.
- Sustainability Experience: Waste reduction, water conservation, energy efficiency.
- Bilingual: English/Spanish preferred for diverse workforce.
Benefits
Comprehensive package including 401(k), medical, dental, vision, life, STD, LTD, and voluntary options. Salary range: $87,000-$120,000 annually.
