The City of Redding Electric Utility Compliance Division is accepting applications for Electric Program Supervisor (Safety). This position reports to the Compliance Officer and will supervise and administer the utility-wide safety program, develop and deliver safety training, perform safety audits, assist in accident investigations and root cause analysis, monitor the health of the safety program, and make adjustments when necessary. Knowledge of safety fundamentals and best practices, Federal OSHA and CalOSHA regulations, auditing practices, and motivating a diverse staff in the area of safety are desired.
Desired skills and abilities for this position include: knowledge of electric system transmission and distribution systems; electric power generation; Federal OSHA and CalOSHA regulations; utility safety best practices and requirements; regulatory compliance and internal controls programs; research, interpret, and communicate applicable regulations; ability to deliver training and develop training materials; ability to comprehend and manage a number of regulations concurrently; ability to perform independent research; ability to be proactive and work independently; ability to collaborate and coordinate with staff and regulatory agencies on safety matters; highly organized; have the ability to multi-task; and gather, evaluate, analyze, and apply information appropriately.
Possession of the appropriate California driver's license, or the ability to acquire one within ten days of appointment.
