American Consultants is seeking a per diem / prn Ultrasound Technologist for a per diem / prn job in Redding, California. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Ultrasound Technologist Discipline: Allied Health Professional Duration: Ongoing Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Per Diem We are seeking a skilled and adaptable Ultrasound Technologist/Technician for a per diem role to support our imaging department. This position offers varied case work, flexible scheduling, and the opportunity to work in a dynamic facility with a supportive team. Key Responsibilities Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures (e.g., abdomen, OB/GYN, vascular, small parts) according to physician orders and departmental protocols. Prepare and position patients, operate ultrasound equipment, and acquire high-quality images for interpretation. Review images for clarity and completeness; adjust protocols or notify physician of any abnormal findings. Maintain ultrasound equipment, ensure proper sterilization/cleaning of transducers, and monitor imaging supply inventory. Assist with performance improvement initiatives and imaging quality assurance activities. Support a flexible schedule—fill coverage for holidays, weekends, and busier time-slots as required. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ultrasound) program or equivalent experience. Active registration with a recognized body such as the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or registry-eligible. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain upon hire. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently in multiple settings.
