Position Overview
The O&M and Field Service Manager owns and schedules day-to-day activities for active Nevados tracker project sites. Primary duties will include monitoring operating sites, training and mentoring field technicians, developing training plans for field technicians, and ensuring field technicians compile accurate reports for distribution to customers and internal Nevados teams.
Candidates must have project management experience and a high level of customer service aptitude. Requirement for previous O&M experience managing Solar (PV) Power Plants, understanding of the mechanical installation of tracker components, basic electronics troubleshooting, reporting and data analysis. Strong computer savviness and experience with Microsoft tools, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word is expected. Candidate must possess the appropriate technical skills to accurately analyze data, design, and deploy effective action plans to satisfy customer needs and company goals. The candidate must be able to identify ongoing issues and implement long-term solutions.
Job Duties
- Safety
- Ensure all Nevados employees and their remediation subcontractor partners are working in a safe environment. Safety first mindset is a requirement including creating and reviewing JHAs and Site-Specific Safety plans and ensuring their proper and complete implementation on jobsites.
- Ensure the team completes the required safety training.
- Training
- Work with and train both senior & junior technicians both offsite and on site to ensure an efficient, safe, and timely completion of the project activities.
- Write technician training materials working with internal team.
- Maintain up to date versions of Nevados Commissioning and O&M documentation with coordination and input from internal Nevados teams
- Provide feedback to technicians regarding reports on field service work and monitoring data.
- Maintain accurate inventory of all material and tools in possession of field team.
- Train, or coordinate training of, technicians on the Nevados dashboard and other controls related software including external and internal software tools.
- Lead the training of the customer's O&M team on the product, how it works, the O&M Dashboard, and how to diagnose and rectify equipment issues.
- Work with internal team to maintain Nevados O&M manual as products and preventative maintenance requirements change
- Organize training for internal and external teams on updates made to Nevados Installation manual, O&M manual, safety procedures, and SOPs
- Site Visits
- Review and edit commissioning reports after site visits for distribution to Nevados internal teams and external customers.
- Ensure teams are maintaining a clean job site after work is completed.
- Use excel sheets to organize site reporting data and review the same reports created by junior field technicians.
- Fleet Maintenance
- Ensure timely monitoring and audits of solar systems via monitoring portals.
- Ensure all weekly site health reports are sent to customers and evaluate reports sent by technicians.
- This role will oversee issue resolution with both internal and external teams and resolve any roadblocks as quickly as possible.
- Attend weekly calls with project owners and Nevados team.
- Partner with team for remediation efforts, which could include guidance for team on site, providing training, managing efforts and working with remediation partners.
Qualifications - Safety first mindset (OSHA 10 minimum, OSHA 30 preferred)
- Previous experience managing a team remotely spread out across different time zones
- Previous Solar Power Plant O&M Experience
- Previous Solar construction experience a plus

Travel Requirements - Travel requirements
- Travel up to 25-50% annually
- Visits to job sites within the continental USA. Travel will vary based on client needs.
- Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record
- Ability to drive long distances as needed
- Own a reliable vehicle with up-to-date insurance
- Travel to job sites within driving distance will require use of personal vehicle, travel outside of this radius will require flying to site
$130,000 - $150,000 a year
This range indicates base salary. See more regarding total compensation packages below. Actual compensation will be determined based on candidate experience, skillset, and location.
