Test Engineer/Conductor

Function: Under the supervision of a Senior Test Engineer, the Test Engineer/Conductor is responsible for performing the tests of assigned programs as well as engineering solutions to testing issues. As a Test Conductor, the incumbent will set up and perform tests, measure and record test data, and review and analyze test results. These tasks will encompass approximately 50% of the job. As a Test Engineer, the incumbent will support the Senior Test Engineer in generating test work instructions, designing test equipment and tooling, and troubleshooting and resolving testing problems. These tasks will encompass approximately 50% of the job.

Essential job functions: Setting up and performing tests; measuring, recording, and analyzing test data with minimum error and maximum efficiency. Setting up, sustaining, and monitoring environmental tests (thermal vacuum, oven, vibration). Much of the testing will be in vibration testing, please focus on candidate with this type of experience. Troubleshooting to resolve test discrepancies. Writing test procedures (which require a thorough understanding of the product, requirements, and the associated tests) and updating or modifying work instructions. Designing and overseeing the fabrication of test tooling and equipment. Assist in maintaining and managing a test equipment and test schedule. To a limited extent, interfacing with the customer during program reviews and customer meetings to determine testing requirements and methods. Improving test methods and processes through automation, computer analysis, and innovative thinking.

Required skills: Knowledge of MS Office tools. Technical writing and communication skills. Good interpersonal relationship skills (communication, attitude, teamwork, flexible) a must. Knowledge and/or experience with thermal vacuum systems, vibration testing, CAD is helpful

Scope: This position is a Temp to Hire position. The manager will evaluate the candidate after 90 days to see if conversion is to be considered.

Education: B.S. in engineering or related field, or 3 years vibration testing experience
