Description:

Become a vital part of a hospital team in Redding, CA as an experienced Computed Tomography Technologist. You will accurately follow physician scanning instructions, administer contrast materials, and operate CT equipment for diagnostic imaging across inpatient, outpatient, ER, and OR settings.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 2 years CT technologist experience required; will consider first-time travelers.
  • Completion of a JRCERT-accredited radiologic technology program or equivalent.
  • Current ARRT (CT) certification required or verification.
  • BLS (AHA) certification required.
  • State-required Fluoroscopy credential for California required.
  • Experience with Cerner charting system preferred.
  • Experience with Philips CT scanners (e.g., 64-slice and big bore models) preferred.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, high-acuity environments including trauma, OR, and ER.
  • Minimum 1-2 shifts of floor-specific orientation required; 12 orientation hours scheduled.
  • Must be a self-starter and able to work with reduced resources on night or evening shifts.

Assignment Details
  • Facility type: Hospital.
  • Unit: CT Tech, Diagnostic Radiology.
  • Shift name: Evenings.
  • Shift pattern: 12:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., every Monday and Tuesday and every other weekend (EOW).
  • Shift lengths performed on unit include 8-hour, 10-hour, and 12-hour shifts; evenings follow the posted evening schedule.
  • Guaranteed hours: 36 hours per week.
  • Orientation: 12 hours; floor-specific orientation typically 1-2 shifts.
  • Charting system: Cerner.
  • Equipment familiarity: Philips CT (64-slice) and big bore 16 preferred.
  • Call expectations and holiday coverage: Will be discussed during the interview process; candidates should expect possible holiday and variable call responsibilities.
  • Work environment: Involves care of inpatient, outpatient, ER, and OR patients; C-arm experience in OR helpful.

  • Scrub color: Teal unless entering the OR, where scrubs are provided.

  • Hospital cancellation policy: facility may cancel up to 4 shifts for a 13-week assignment; fewer cancellations on shorter assignments.
