Description
Simpson University, a Christ-centered institution affiliated with the Christian and Missionary Alliance and a member of the Council for Christian Colleges & Universities (CCCU), seeks a dynamic and compassionate campus leader to serve as the Dean of Students. Simpson seeks an approachable leader who advocates for students, sets clear expectations, and champions student success. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proven and impressive track record of proactively upholding conduct accountability, increasing retention through holistic student growth, and supervising teams through leader discipleship. The Dean will be a nurturing gift to the lives of our students and their pruning and care for our students will result in good fruit such as affection for others, exuberance about life, and serenity. They will help students develop loyal commitments, a willingness to stick with things, a sense of compassion in the heart, and a conviction that Christ's holiness permeates all. An ideal candidate will know how to build belonging in our students through personable, supportive, mentoring relationships while ensuring restorative compliance, spiritual leadership, and mission integration for Simpson's heritage and core values. We are excited to test and approve a Dean of Students who will instinctively collaborate with faculty, staff, and student leaders to create intentional healthy communities where students pursue their academics and God's calling in their lives. Our team is praying that the Lord will stir the heart of someone who feels called to join our vibrant community at Simpson.
Simpson offers generous benefits including medical, dental, vision, retirement and tuition benefit programs for employees and their dependents, paid holidays and vacation days. We also provide full dining privileges for lunch each day. We encourage Student Development staff to attend at least one professional conference and one mission trip per year with an expectation for staff to do fundraising to cover the costs for these activities. Redding is very affordable within California and considered a hub for excellent outdoor activities. Redding has a small airport with metropolitan access south of us in Sacramento and the San Francisco Bay Area by 2.5-3.5 hours.
