Medical ScribeThe Redding Rancheria is seeking a Medical Scribe. The preferred schedule for this position is four 10‑hour shifts. The listed wage reflects the entry‑level rate for this position; compensation may be adjusted based on experience, education, and qualifications.Medical Scribes are individuals trained in medical documentation who assist a provider throughout their shift. The primary goal is to increase the efficiency and productivity of the physician. The Medical Scribe will be responsible for annotating any dictated or written information for the treatment of patients following all local, state, and federal guidelines for documentation into the electronic health record system. The Medical Scribe will record each patient's symptoms, history, physical exam, send referrals, order labs and x‑rays, and document diagnoses. This position has no direct involvement in patient care but assists nursing and front‑office staff.Requirements / Minimum QualificationsOne year of experience in a healthcare field preferred or minimum two‑year college education with coursework in medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.Must be fingerprinted and pass a background check.Indian preference.Essential Job DutiesAssist the clinician with documentation of each patient's medical chart during the visit.Transcribe histories and physical examinations as provided by the patient and physician.Document procedures performed by the clinician or nurses and print consent forms prior to the procedure.Use the EMR system's templates and documentation techniques efficiently and accurately.Transcribe consultations or discussions with family members, and complete the chart by transcribing lab, x‑ray, or other evaluation results.Order labs and x‑rays and schedule patients on the x‑ray roster.Transcribe referrals to the correct specialty during the visit.Generate notes, excusal letters, and other forms required by the clinician.Schedule future patient visits.Assist with insurance lookups to support front staff.Aide in managing QIP measures.Perform other clerical duties and tasks to improve provider productivity and clinic workflow as assigned.Ensure medical record compliance through self‑documentation attestation.Other duties as assigned.BenefitsRedding Rancheria offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short and long‑term disability, paid holidays, vacation and sick leave, and a 401(k) retirement plan.Indian preference applies, but all applicants are encouraged to apply.
