Minimum Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age.Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in all weather conditions.Valid driver's license with a minimum of 2 years driving experience and a clean driving record.Own a reliable vehicle that meets the specified vehicle requirements and complies with postal regulations and driving standards.Vehicle may be any age if in good physical and mechanical condition; preferred to be a cargo or passenger van but not required.Ability to pass a background check and keep a clean driving record free from DUI convictions or suspensions within the past five years.Duties and Responsibilities As a USPS contract mail carrier, you will deliver mail and packages to residential and commercial addresses in the Cottonwood area. Your duties include traveling scheduled routes, delivering mail and packages, obtaining signatures, collecting outgoing mail, sorting mail in the designated delivery sequence for active mailboxes, and loading mail and packages into delivery vehicles accordingly. Completion of each route involves sorting mail and ensuring delivery to customers' mailboxes along the assigned travel line.Schedule Work schedule: Monday through Saturday with Sunday and holidays off. Hours start at 5 a.m. and continue until the route is completed, approximately 7 hours per day depending on volume and carrier efficiency.Vehicle and Insurance Requirements The vehicle must be a qualifying passenger vehicle with valid registration and insurance, meeting postal regulations and driving standards. Compensation includes a reimbursement rate integrated into your daily salary to cover personal vehicle use for mail delivery.
