Under general direction, accurately take down verbatim in machine shorthand or voice writing all required or requested court hearings; read back the record upon request; produce official, verbatim transcripts of court proceedings in conformity with court standards, codes, Rules of Court, and time requirements; maintain records in accordance with GC 69955; and perform related duties.
Licensure: In accordance with Section 8016 of the California Business and Professions Code, official court reporters working in any court shall possess a current Certified Shorthand Reporter (CSR) certificate issued by the Court Reporters Board of California.
DESIRABLE CERTIFICATION & SKILLS:
Transportation: Applicants must be able to report to work as scheduled and perform the essential functions of the position. A driver's license is not required unless driving is an essential function of the job.
