WORK YEAR:              Part-Time: 2.1 hours per day/11 months/183 days annually.

                                                     

START DATE:              August 10, 2020

SALARY:                       Salary Schedule 4/B, $35.76-$47.27 an hour, Placement dependent on experience. Stipend for Masters $1200 annually or Doctorate $2000 annually.

BENEFITS:                   Sick leave accrued.

DEFINITION:

Provides instruction in the Career Technical Education area as determined by course assignment.  Instruction includes classroom and industry related safety practices and procedures, career awareness, classroom instruction and development, placement and monitoring of the community classroom methodology.  Coordinates efforts with Career Technical Education Center (CTEC) administration and participating partner institutions/agencies to provide appropriate student oversight and organization of all career technical educational requirements.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES[May include, but is not limited to the following]

  1. Provide classroom instruction aligned with CTEC programs
  2. Assist in the planning and upgrading of curricular materials
  3. Assist students in related on-the-job training and placement
  4. Develop and maintain an Advisory Committee
  5. Participate in student, course, instructional, and program evaluation
  6. Manage the program budget, community classroom site development, student scheduling, supervision, business/industry agreements and related documentation
  7. Participate in education and industry professional development training activities
  8. Use multiple assessments to identify, monitor, assess and evaluate academic and career technical skills achievement of students
  9. Maintain student records as required by the program
  10. Provide CTEC administrators with equipment maintenance, replacement, update and acquisition needs
  11. Participate in program recruitment activities
  12. Understand and support student accommodations as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge of:

  1. The California Career Technical Education Model Curriculum Standards, California Common Core State Standards (CCSS), and Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), as appropriate
  2. Researched based instructional strategies within CTEC programs

Ability to:

  1. Perform stated duties as per job description
  2. Communicate effectively with students, other CTEC staff and administrators, institutional/agency personnel and community partners
  3. Supervise student activities
  4. Plan, organize and implement the “community classroom” component of the course for those students who qualify
  5. Emphasize (1) College and Career Readiness skills, (2) Industry based practices, (3) Safe work procedures at all times
  6. Implement researched based instructional strategies within CTEC programs 

Education and Experience:

  1. Possession of a valid and unexpired California teaching credential appropriate to the identified course.  A CTE credential is required unless the particular course assignment is in an industry sector that falls within one of these four Single Subject credential areas: Agriculture, Business, Home Economics, or Industrial & Technology Education/Industrial Arts.

OR 

  1. Qualify and submit an application for a Designated Subjects Career Technical Education Credential by meeting the following:
  1. Verification of high school graduation or the equivalent
  2. Written verification of a minimum of three years of work experience directly related to the course assignment.  One year equals a minimum of 1000 clock hours and the experience may be full-time or part-time, paid or unpaid.  Completion of forty-eight (48) semester units of postsecondary vocational training related to the industry sector named on the credential may be substituted for a maximum of two of the three years of experience
  3. At least one year of the required work experience must be within the last five years, or two years within the last ten years, immediately preceding the issuance of the preliminary credential

An individual must have at least one year of actual work experience to qualify for the credential.

  1. Possess or be eligible for EL authorization.  An Emergency CLAD permit or SDAIE Waiver may be considered upon offer of hire

OTHER:

  1. Must possess a valid California Driver’s License and automobile liability insurance
